Philadelphia police investigators are looking for people who participated in a weekend incident that had individuals shooting off fireworks and performing street stunts.
A Philadelphia police car was damaged by a raucous crowd near City Hall that was shooting fireworks and performing street stunts over the weekend.
Investigators are looking for people who participated in the rowdy incident, which happened just after midnight Sunday, WTXF-TV reports. Video footage captured drivers doing burnouts and some individuals launching fireworks
Members of the crowd allegedly jumped on the hood of at least one police cruiser, damaging it. The group also was seen watching a car do doughnuts around the cruiser.
The incident is part of a continuing problem in Philadelphia, with similar cases happening elsewhere over the weekend. That included an instance in which there were 200 cars at a gathering.
"Our number one priority is the safety of the public, which can, and often does become compromised when individuals behave in a reckless manner that endangers themselves and those around them," the department stated.
